Don't you just love the cool crisp feel of fall... when the leaves change colors and you just want to snuggle up with a good book and your favorite blanket!

Debra Miller is hosting a 1st day of Autumn hop and she was gracious enough to extend it a little longer so more of us could join in!

I made this card using an older TAC set called Luscious Leaves... It's perfect for an Autumn hop! I colored the leaf with my aqua watercolor crayons and die cut with Labels 3. I then ironed beeswax over the top... the paper is Blackbird Collection from Memory Box. I hope you will join in on the fun....

A Very Sad Day

This was posted today on The Angel Company web site

It is with great sadness that I must announce we are hanging up our wings. These past several years our industry has faced enormous challenges and as a result, we have seen many companies close their doors. We continued to hope we could see The Angel Company through this recession and back into prosperous days and we held onto this hope as long as we could.

One of the largest challenges affecting each of us is our industry not being able to support all of the direct sales companies in our field. Even in a healthy economy, we are a niche market trying to compete for a very limited number of distributors. As a small company, this has been a grueling challenge for us. Times are tough for everyone ~ in direct sales and retail environments.

I would like to thank each of you for being an customer and Angel these past 14 years. Indeed, it has been a pleasure to serve you.

"Christmas In July" Angel Art Blog Hop

It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop sponsored by Paper Wings! I have been crafting up a storm and and have quite the odd mix of Christmas that I'd like to share.

First is a very traditional Christmas Tin & Card Gift Set using a new TAC stamp from Nina B. called Love Never Fails. This isn't even a Christmas set, but I knew right away it would be perfect... I can see lots of uses for this set and I'm sure it will become one of my favorites!

Next is a vintage 3 sided ornament featuring the lovely lady from the hostess set Beautiful Soul. She was colored with Copics and I used melted beeswax over the piece before it was framed inside the Heirloom Nestabilitie.The shape was cut from corrugated cardboard and dry brushed with lt. ivory acrylic paint sprinkled with glitter while wet. I decided I liked it turned upside down with the touch of pearls across the top. I added a rayon tassel and loop for hanging and a velvet ribbon to finish it off.

Last is a very un-traditional Christmas Card using Joyful Ornaments and the More Mimi paper collection. Love the richness of this one! I embossed the ornament with Versa Magic Pink Petunia & Clear EP the top of the ornament was Embossed with Color Box Platinum & Clear EP. I pieced the two papers and the border that I cut from Parisian Accents together then cut using Labels 5, a string of pearls on each side finish it off.

Technique Blog Hop "Spotlighting"

New Creation

Here is a another card I made using another new stamp from the new 2011-2012 Inspiration Catalogue called New Creation I think this one is so beautiful! The back ground paper is another piece I made using the letter press technique with Haystack & Seascape palette inks and the Floral Fantasy cuddlebug folder. The image was colored simply with my Copic markers & distress ever so slightly with Cognac. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the mailman brings happy mail today and I get my catalogues!!!

Angel Art Blog Hop "Clean and Simple"

Tonight I'm sharing a clean & simple card I designed for one of my card classes a few months ago. I used one of my favorite floral sets by Mabelle RO called Simply Devine. It is on the retired list and will only be available through June. I created a vase from one of our double sided papers More Mimi SWIC and my extra jumbo circle punch and by trimming a piece from the bottom. I stamped the flowers with one of my favorite VersaMagic Dew Drop collections called Jewel Box. The sentiment comes from a level B Hostess set called Love You. Sea Stamps and Color Throwdown #4

Today I'm sharing a card I did for Kerry's color throwdown, I really loved these colors together so I went through my paper stash and pulled out some like shades to give this one a go! I'm using a great TAC set called "Sea Stamps" that is retiring and on sale for 35% off through 5/29. I love this vintage angel fish, I googled angel fish so I would have an idea how to color this little guy... I really had no idea there were so many different types of angel fish out there! I think it turned out pretty cool and I have another Father's Day card done to boot!

This is another Sunflower card I designed for a virtual swap hosted by Kerry Urbatch, She will be putting together a PDF file with several samples using this set after the 18th. So check back if you would like the file. This set is the featured stamp of the month and I have really enjoyed creating with it. I did a little paper piecing on this one using TAC's free black & white download papers. The image was colored with copics and distressed with cognac ink and embellished with a twill tape bow & button... I really love the shabby chic feel of this one!

Golden Egg Challenge

Who doesn’t love a golden egg! Just like our kids we can’t wait to crack it open and see what’s inside. This month we are combing our love for Golden Eggs with a cardmaking challenge!

To play along cardmakers MUST use the items in the Golden Egg, on their cards, and then upload them to our Savvy Projects Blog share!What in the Golden Egg (Items that have to be on your card):1. GLITTER ~ Prisma glitter or glitter pens … it just has to have glitter!2. LAYERS ~ At least 3!3. COLOR ~ At least 3 colors or more! Ink, prisma pencils, copics, etc.4. RIBBON or SCRAPPERS FLOSS5. I used the Stardust Clear Gelly pen on the cross... It was sunny here yesterday so I shot this photo outside, my camera didn't capture the gorgeous sparkle on this sweet little lambs cross. I have lots of layers using Caboodles E and Tutti Frutti, Lots of color, ribbon and flowers... All the requirements met for a beautiful Easter card!

"Seeing Shamrocks" March Blog Hop

You know how I love vintage so tonight I'm sharing a Vintage St. Patrick's day card... Is there such a thing?? LOL! Probably not the most common style for this holiday...What do you think did I pull it off?

Using my Cricut & DS software I welded the 4-leaf clover from GAH cartridge in the center of each banner from the SFTN cartridge, Next I stamped the banner with T-3346 Background Soup. I distressed with cognac and backed with the green cs from the R-2503 Mia's Cottage.

I punched some wholes across top to thread some green cording through. It is layered to a piece of black cs with Pop Dots, I then layered to another piece of green that was border punched with a MS punch.

Next attach to kraft cs base and stamp the Celebrate form the T-3128 Thinking Of You on a strip of white cs that I distressed with cognac and adhere to black cs, The pink Rhinestones in the center of each clover are the perfect finish!

I used Fancy Tags Shapabilities die to stamp my image on using French Lilac & Lavender Sachet and Tombo Markers 177 & 158 for the stems, I distressed with Cognac to give that warm aged look... Technique Blog Hop ~ Retiform

I have to tell you I really struggled to come up with stamps that I thought I could showcase for this technique, Then I remembered that adorable image from Mice Day that had drawn me to the set... No other small compatible images in that set no problem, I just went to the Sew Thankful set to fill in the other retiform grids...

I already knew I loved the retiform card Avis Anderson had done with these images...

I think that while the end card came out nice these 2 colors Charcoal and L'Amore Red weren't strong enough on my card to really show this technique, but having spent so much time on this card I couldn't bring myself to start over. After I was done I used the Running Stitches set to frame each grid, it was off a little and the seamstress in me wishes I would have done real stitching!

I had a lot of fun once I started playing with technique and will me giving this another try!

March Of The Snowmen Blog Hop

I have a couple of cards to share this morning. For my first card I pulled out one of my all time favorites, a retired stamp set from "The Angel Company" called Coolest Snowmen... I paired it with some wonderful 9x9 cardstock exclusive to TAC called Catelynne.

On my second card I used a free vintage image from Cora's blog Digital Two For Tuesday be sure & check it out, she has some wonderful images. The Sentiment is another retired stamp from"The Angel Company"the background stamp is from a current set called "Vintage Santa" I love this one and find myself always reaching for it!

Captivating Keepsake Ornament Tutorial

On my lunch hour I came up with this idea for a "Captivating Keepsake" entry.... and I couldn't wait to get home to make these! I'm happy to be sharing them with you and I hope they become a keepsake that you can hand down... I've always loved anything old and these have that old vintage look!

It all started when I discovered the wonderful small rib corrugated cardboard in the priority mailing boxes.... LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff!!!

1. First peel the white paper from the front of your box and cut to a manageable size to run through your die cutting machine, you will need to cut out 2 of the largest size Labels 9, next center the 2 3/8" circle die inside 1 of your shapes and run back through with your die cutting machine you now have 1 solid shape for the back and 1 shape with a circle cutout in the front that will frame your stamped image.

2. Dry brush these with lt. Ivory paint. Leave some cardboard showing through makes them look old, next pour prisma glitter on while paint is still wet.

3. Stamp any image that will fit nicely in the circle frame, on a 3"x 3" piece of premium white cardstock and color with Copics or any coloring medium of your choice. Next

I like to brayer haystack over the image to give it an additional aged look this step is optional.

4. Heat up your craft iron and run your beeswax over the plate melting it, iron onto your image... repeat until covered. Warning this technique is addictive!!! I love the smooth waxy finish and it looks wonderful with our new vintage stamps!

5. Trim image to fit ornament shape applying glue on the inter edges around circle on the inside of the cardboard. Cut a 7" piece of cording making a loop with a knot, Attach at the top point on the inside with a glue dot. Trim top of cord on tassel and attach at the bottom inside with another glue dot. Adhere to back ornament shape with zip dry. Attach velvet ribbon to front using a glue dot.

The photo of my finished ornament looks washed out, in real life it has a warm rich hue...

Deck the Halls Blog Hop

My first card... was inspired by a card by Lisa Henke in the Nov/Dec Papercrafts magazine.

I stamped the poinsettia with Moonlight White Brilliance ink on kraft cs then mounted it to a red card base, I added a strip of corrugated cardboard that had been colored with a Copic marker and a silk poinsettia flower with a jingle bell. The sentiment was stamped with L'Amore Red Palette ink.

Stamps: T-3416 Poinsettia

On my second card I embossed the poinsettia with Galaxy Gold Brilliance ink & Clear EP and colored with my Copics, I stamped 3 of the flowers and cut apart so it would be 3 dimensional... using pop dots in between each layer. I also colored the ribbon & rhinestones with my Copics to match... it was mounted to some corrugated cardboard that I trimmed with lace and mounted to an ivory card base.

Stamps: T-3416 Poinsettia

My third card uses a Nestabilites Petite Oval and a Labels 8. I stamped the bird on my oval white cs die cut using Memento Rich Cocoa... I accented with my clear Stardust Gelly pen. I matted to a die cut shape of corrugated cardboard and another brown cs die cut shape, I embellished with red organza ribbon and attached to a red card base.

Christmas in July Angel Art Blog Hop

I would like to share a couple of quick cards I made using Vintage Santa,

This set came out last year and is one of my favorites!

My first card starts with a white card base that has been distressed along the edges with jumbo java ink, a brown layer of cs comes next. I stamped the Santa image and distressed and then matted to scarlet cs. I spritzed with our new frost shimmer this adds a lot of sparkle my photo doesn't do it justice... I stamped sentiment and mat to corrugated cardboard & hit with some frost simmer spritz too. The finishing touch is this adorable brown mini Pom Pom trim!

My second card is also a white card base that was distressed.. I added a scarlet cs layered to it... Next I used the new large scallop Nestabillitie die to cut my corrugated cardboard shape then adhered on top of red cs... stamped Santa on white cs, mat to brown cs and distressed & spritz with frost shimmer. To finish off I tied red twine with a tag stamped with a sentiment from the tiny tidbits set....

This is a card I designed for a challenge I'm hosting on Paper wings SC10 Texture. The challenge to my fellow Angels was to make a Card or Scrapbook Page that included lots of texture.

On my sample card I peeled some cardboard to reveal the ridges and then die cut the scallop shape, I colored my image with Copics & distressed with Palette Haystack ink, added some accents using my Clear Stardust Gel Pen..several layers from Reece paper collection frame it... The finishing touch is a Silk Poinsettia, Ribbon and a Tag!

Spring Blog Hop

I was asked to take part in a Spring Blog Hop with some of my papercrafting friends and I'm really excited to share a couple of spring creations with you today!

Life Is Good Wall Hanging

I was inspired to create this after seeing the one By Katie Watson in the Feb/Mar issue of "Simply Handmade" so it's not an original idea but I did change it up a bit...

I recycled some heavy weight chipboard from the inside of an old binder to make the wall hanging it's self and then painted it a pale blue. The houses were designed with the Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge and my DS software and cut from lightweight chipboard and pattern paper. I used Pooh & Friends to cut Sun, Tree & Kite..

Paper: Basic Grey "Lemonade"

Misc: EK Border punch, BG buttons,Offray ribbon,TAC eyelets, DMC floss, Thickers glittered chipboard letters, Zip Dry glue

Beautiful Butterfly Card

I used the butterfly from my Home Accents cartridge and cut 2 sizes that would nest and removed the antenna from the smaller butterfly with my Kai detail scissors. I scored along the side of each body so the wings would be 3-D then I adhered the smaller butterfly in the center with a glue line and placed 2 buttons over that. The base card was stamped with VersaMark and a retired TAC hostess stamp set called "Be Of Good"... I used a 7/8"coral ribbon to finish it!

The inside is 2 layers of pattern paper and white cardstock that have been punched with my corner rounder and then stamped with a butterfly image from the same set in pink grapefruit ink.

Day 7 ~ Super Sketchy Sunday

Today's challenge on 365 card's is this sketch by Pam, here is my interpretation and I think it is rather lose at that! I got this wonderful new border punch & couldn't resist using it and those little yellow buttons were such a great finishing touch!

The paper is Lemomade by Basic grey and this card was inspired by a negative house shape that I had in my scrap pile... It's so great to use those scraps up!!

The sentiment is a new A Hostess Stamp from TAC called "Bless Your Heart"

Day 6 ~ Stampin' Saturday

Today's challenge on 365 Card's is to create a stamped image using more than one color of ink. This means that the ink must be applied to the stamp before pressing it on the paper - as opposed to coloring in an image with markers.

Day ~5 Fancy Folds

Well it's day 3 over at 365 cards and I seem to be on a roll with the challenges so far... But today Pam I was really stumped with what to do!! Well I spent some time googling String Art like you and found this amazing template for a stitched card over at Pinbroidery so here is the link for you to download a free pattern.

This was really a Fun card to make!
I used DMC floss for my string art and added pearls to the centers for a touch of elegance; the stamped sentiment is from this wonderful new Hostess set "Bless Your Heart" email me if you would like to know how you can get yours. The piece has been mounted on Wisteria from Basic Grey.

The first card Let It Snow was inspired by the card on page 33 We Love The Snow! By Kimberly Crawford

The Snowflake was cut from the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge and the paper is Ambrosia by Basic Grey, buttons Basic Grey, floss DMC...

Warm Wishes card was a total case from the card on page 27

January Angel Art Blog Hop

It's time for another Angel Art Blog Hop sponsored by Paper Wings an online community of TAC Demonstrators.

Be My Valentine card is quick & easy with some Scor-Pal & Scor-bug detail using I Heart You and the square frame from Sweet Goodies. The heart and frame have been stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and the heart was colored with Copic marker R29 Lipstick Red. Be my valentine was stamped with Moonlight White Brilliance ink, it really shows up great on the brown CS. Finished off with a cute little gingham bow.

Love card uses Scarlet,Brown, Kraft and White Ultrasmooth cardstock.

The heart was stamped with Palette Moulin Rouge ink and paper pierced,I used my Extra Jumbo Marvy circle punch and distressed the edges with VersaMagic Jumbo Java.The Label shape was cut using my Cricut and SB Cartridge. The brown layer was embossed and I used my corner rounder on the base card. The stamps used were T-3215 I Heart You & T-3185 Faith.

Valentine Treat Holder was constructed with brown cs and my Scor-Pal. It holds 2 Milano double chocolate cookies! Can you say YUMMMM.... My DH was sampling as I was finishing up on my project I was lucky to have any left for

the photo shoot!! LOL! I used a MS border punch on the bag and was planning on writing up a tutorial on how the box was constructed. But had some unexpected company and I didn't get to it.... I will post at a later date.

Wow... I finally got some free time to stamp. I worked on cleaning up my stamp space yesterday and it sure feels good to play! I made this card for CC47 on Paper Wings hosted by Laurie Willison using Ivory, Kraft, Brown and Turquoise. I think these are just yummy colors together!!!

I'm sorry it has been so long since my last post.. November & December are extremely hectic at work and then I have been busy creating for Mischelle's Blog and haven't had much time to devote to my own. This card was part of a trio of cards I sent in last May to TAC for one of the contests... It didn't win, but its still one of my favorites! I used the stamp set from the Angel Company T-2544 Seeds of blessing and the V-828 Sands Of Time paper collection this is really fun because it has 2 great alphabet stickers sheets included..

This is another quick card using Train Collage, Faith, Vintage Santa.

Stamp train on kraft cardstock and color holly & postage cancel mark with Copic markers. Distress edges with edge distresser tool attach copper brads & poinsettia with button, next layer to torn scarlet cardstock with foam tape. Stamp vintage script on white cardstock tear and attach to black card base adhere matted train piece. Stamp sentiment underneath...

Ok I'm super excited here can you tell!!?? I sent some cards off several months ago and when I got up to get ready for work last night I had this awesome surprise waiting on the kitchen table! I'm not a subscriber so I knew it could only mean one thing... I had a card in there some where!!! You should have seen me ripping open that packaging!! LOL! Not one but all 3 of my cards made it into the latest Take Ten! This is not the best scan but you get the idea..

Classy Christmas Circles

Another quick Ten Minute card for you. This one was done using the Christmas Circles Set above I just stamped the joy circle on Kraft cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink and punched it out with my Marvy Mega Scalloped punch, I then centered a silk poinsettia in the middle with a black brad as the focal point. A strip of Scarlet cardstock and white grosgrain ribbon & Black Scrappers Floss attached to a Black card base... You will notice some Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug detail across the bottom and it finished. I'm really please with this first ever black Christmas card! What do you think?

Angel Art Blog Hop For November

Holiday Cards & Tags in ten minutes or less is our theme for November!

I choose to make a couple of cards using this new Vintage Santa this is a set of six stamps from the Fall/Winter Inspiration Avenue Magalogue.

I really love all the stamps from this set

but especially the sentiments, it's such an elegant script and are now among my favorites...

The snowflakes remind me of batten burg lace... I think there so pretty!

And this Vintage Santa looks just as great stamped without any coloring as he does colored... talk about a quick card.

The Season's Greeting card is made with our beautiful Scarlet Cardstock the snowflakes were stamped with Brilliance Moonlight White. The strip of Kraft Cardstock is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the white MS punched border is White Ultrasmooth Cardstock. It's embellished with a snowflake brad stuck through a black button and a touch of white grosgrain ribbon and Black Scrappers Floss.

The Vintage Santa Card is made with the same scarlet cardstock I then stamped the Santa on the white ultrasmooth cardstock with the Memento and just colored in the holly& berries and his rosy checks with my Copic's. I used a touch of the Clear Stardust Gelly pen on his pipe & holly. I then mounted it to a torn piece of Black Cardstock stamped the sentiment and embellished with white grosgrain ribbon, add a couple of nested buttons from the Elizabeth Buttons & Blossoms Collection... a touch of scrappers floss and it's complete.

I really love this new snow angel set from TAC called Merriest Wishes... Here is another creation using non-traditional Christmas colors. I used cardstock from the Reece Collection.My snow angel is colored using Prisma Colored Pencils & Mineral Spirits and I added a little bit of sparkle on his wings with my Stardust Clear Gelly Pen. Penelope Inspired Fall Card

I'm in the mood for Fall... How about you? I whipped this cute little Fall card up for CC45 motivational challenge on PaperWings using a TAC stamp set called Everyday Events it's really a versatile set because it has something great for about any occasion.... I used bazzill for the card base & Penelope SWIC for the pumpkin and Kraft Cardstock is what I stamped the main image on and then matted it with a couple of colors from the Penelope Cardstock Collection. Merriest Wishes these snow angels are so stink in' cute I can't wait to have more time to play with this set! For this card I punched different size circles then inked the edges with Brilliance Moonlight White & a Manicure Pad... my stamping friend Barb turned me on to these and it's about all I distress with any more! Another Halloween share this time using the Spooky Girls set. The Cinderella card I made to send to my 3 year grand daughter. I used my Scor-Pal & Scor-Bug on a border strip I punched. The image was colored with my Copics & I added a little glitz with my Stardust Clear Gelly Pen The second card is my favorite! I used the Miss Moxie SWIC & Miss Moxie Cardstock I love the bright fun colors of this collection... I even used the color matching strip of flowers from the edge of the paper. It's been a while since I have had anything new to share... I was asked by Mischelle Smith from the Angel Company to be a guest designer on her blog for the next 4 month so I have been busy creating for that...Here is a new card I made using my Copic's and Tea For Two T-3205 I love this new set and can't wait to have more time to play with it! After coloring I cut out the cup & the tea bag with my detail Kai detail scissors & my craft knife. I used pop dots to raise the cup and placed the tea bag inside the tea cup... Owl Always Love You!

This was another project from WAG (Western Angel Gathering) I used my Cricut to cut the owl face and the label on his tummy.His Kraft layer was textured with one of my Big Shot texture plates then distressed with some Jumbo Java VersaMagic ink.The eyes & nose were done with punches and my White gel pen added the glimmer in his eyes. The sentiment is from the set T-3043 What A Hoot. He has been attached to a 4"x 4" ziplock bag with mini Milky Way bars... Yum!!!! Thanks for stopping by.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post I have been really busy getting ready for are annual WAG hosted by Char Wilson.(Western Angel Gathering) It was September 11th-12th it was so much FUN! We had angels attending from as far away as Idaho & Montana... There was our shopping trip on Friday and some fun challenges Friday evening. This is a quick card I made from a scrap bag challenge. Vintage Christmas Tree

Vintage Christmas is in my stamp collection and I really haven't given it much use, so I broke it out the other evening and started playing with it. I stamped the tree with palette bordeaux ink on some kraft cs & next I embossed it, than I stamped and cut a second tree & popped it up over the first used some lace from my sewing stash and a rhinestone and some pink stickles, I matted it in brown cs and adhered it to another embossed burgundy layer. Added a ribbon & a button with a little bling to top it off...

I had a little time to play yesterday and did this for a challenge on 365 card's
Make a Star the dominate shape on your card. That means that you don't have to create a star-shaped card,but the star shape should really stand out on your card, weather it's that pattern in the paper, or a giant shape on your card. I choose to make a baby card using a star shape cut from my Cricut and I used a stamp set called An Udder Birthday that has some stars... I joined a Christmas card club on my Paper Wings group a few months back. My goal is to have 100 cards done by Christmas, so every month I make 11 and so far this has really helped me stay on track!
